Presentation : Jean-Luc and Claudy Monteillet, family property for 3 generations. Still red wine made in Grignan (in the Drôme), +/- 70 km north of Avignon.

AOC : Saint-Joseph.

Soil : On the right bank of the Rhône, we are on the North of the appellation, on steep schist and granite slopes.

Maturing : 12 months maturing in a few barrels of 3 wines.

Blend : 100% Syrah.

Tasting : A pure and deep nose, from the beginning it offers us notes of breeding, we leave on aromas of roasting, notes of cocoa, delicately roasted coffee, dark chocolate. Its attack is full in the mouth, beautiful balance with soft and velvety tannins. We find the minerality of the septentrionaux, typical of granitic soils, which contributes to this nice freshness. With a strong character, it reveals present and quite round tannins.

Regionally, it will gladly accompany ravioli with ceps, a bed of gratin dauphinois and nice slices of leg of lamb. More originally an ossobuco, a pan of oyster mushrooms, a nice stew.
