Presentation : Still red wine produced by Sebastiano Cossia Castiglioni 30 km south of Florence, in the heart of the Chianti Classico area.
DOC : DOCG Chianti Classico.
Soil : The vineyards are located on south-facing hills of 350-450 m., on soil rich in sand and clay.
Aging : 12 to 14 months in French barrels (30% new, 70% of one or two wines for Sangiovese; 80% new for the other varieties) from Allier, Châtillon, Nevers and Tronçais; the final blend is selected after multiple tastings.
Blend : Sangiovese (80%), Cabernet-Sauvignon (15%), Merlot (5%).
Tasting : This wine has a beautiful bright ruby color with delicious aromas of plum, black cherry with a touch of chocolate; it is rich in the mouth with well rounded tannins and a nice length.
Ideal with poultry, rabbit, white meat, red meat, meat in sauce, small game, game (hare, deer), soft cheeses.
