Presentation : The Elgueta family, P. de Solminihac en Wolf von Appen. Still red wine elaborated in San Clemente, in the Maule Valley, 250 kms south of Santiago.
AOC : Maule Valley.
Soil : Poor clay soil, rich in minerals (of alluvial, colluvial or glacial origin, flat or slightly sloping terrain (from 2 to 10%); the vineyards are located at the foot of the Andes, in a cooler zone of the Central Valley).
Aging : For 12 months in French barrels (50% new, 50% of one wine), then for 6 months in bottle.
Blend : Carménère.
Tasting : This powerful wine with a very intense purplish color develops harmonious and complex aromas of fig, ripe black fruits, coffee and spices with a toasted touch; in the mouth one discovers a great structure and fruity and spicy aromas well blended with woody notes. Ideal with white meat, red meat, meat in sauce, small game, game (hare, venison), cheese.
