Presentation : Daniel and Frédéric Brunier, owners for 4 generations. Red wine made in Bédarrides, 15 km north of Avignon.
AOC : Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Soil : Miocene molasses (1 to 1.5 m deep) resting on a thick layer of clay heavily laden with pebbles, and covered by the mantle of alpine diluvium, commonly called "galets roulés".
Aging : In concrete vats for the first 10 months, then in 50 to 70 hl tuns for 8 to 12 months depending on the vintage. The wine is bottled without filtration after about 22 months and is put on the market 2 years after the harvest.
Blend : Grenache noir (65%), mourvèdre (15%), syrah (15%), cinsault and others (5%).
Tasting : This is a wine with an intense ruby color, even purple, with an explosive bouquet of licorice, spices and black fruits; in the mouth it is extremely rich, sappy and pure, all in power and length.
Ideal with red meats, meats in sauce, stewed dishes, game (hare, venison), soft cheeses, spicy cheeses.
