Presentation : The low yield, the oldest vines in our vineyard and the drastic selection throughout the year allow us to guarantee an incomparable personality in Saint-Emilion. The blend of Château la Croizille is particularly unusual in Saint-Emilion: 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. This blend can vary from one vintage to another, up to 50% Cabernet Sauvignon for the 2010 and 2012.
AOC : Saint-Emilion Grand Cru.
Soil : Clay-limestone, marl, blue and red clay on limestone.
Maturing : 19 months in French oak barrels, from 10 different coopers, 100% new barrels.
Blend : 65% Merlot, 35% Cabernet-Sauvignon (may vary according to the vintage).
Tasting : This great wine with an inky color develops a bewitching nose of black fruits with a touch of roasting; rich, complex and tasty, it impresses by the harmony between its great material, its suppleness, its fine tannins and its pleasant but intense aromas.
The methods of cultivation are traditional, reasoned and ensure the greatest respect for the soil, the vine and the auxiliary fauna (vineyard certified iso14001 and HVE: high environmental value). Disbudding, de-budding, green harvesting and leaf removal.
